Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk
I, the undersigned participant, understand and acknowledge that participation in the Iron Ringer Ball Hockey League (hereinafter referred to as “the League”) involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, or even death. I acknowledge that risks may arise from:
- Physical activity, including the possibility of collisions with other players or equipment.
- The condition of the premises and facilities.
- Unforeseen circumstances or acts of nature beyond the League’s control.
I confirm that I am physically fit and have no medical conditions that would prevent my safe participation. I voluntarily assume all risks, both known and unknown, associated with my participation in the League.
Waiver and Release of Liability
In consideration of being allowed to participate in the League, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, and assigns, hereby release, waive, and discharge the League, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and agents (collectively referred to as “Releasees”) from any and all liability, including claims for negligence, resulting in personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death arising out of or connected to my participation.
This waiver is intended to comply with the Occupiers’ Liability Act (Ontario) and other applicable laws. It does not release liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or breaches of statutory duties.
Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any claims, damages, costs, or legal fees that may arise out of or in connection with my participation in the League.
Media Release
I grant the League permission to use photographs, videos, or other media taken during my participation for promotional purposes. I waive any right to compensation or ownership of these materials.
Governing Law
This waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of
Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario. Severability
If any provision of this waiver is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Acknowledgment of Understanding
I have read and understood this waiver. By agreeing and inputting your name on the registration page, I acknowledge that I am voluntarily giving up substantial rights, including the right to sue the League and the Releasees for ordinary negligence. I sign this document freely and voluntarily.
